LINK, the UK’s Cash Access and ATM network, has today relaunched its Cash Locator tool allowing customers access to the most comprehensive guide for finding their nearest free access to cash point.

For the first time, LINK’s tool now includes information including opening times and available services of bank branches. Every branch of banks designated by the Treasury as part of their access to cash rules is available to view on the new Cash Locator (full list below).

Available online or downloadable on iOS and Android devices, the Cash Locator tool allows any person to type in a UK based location providing results on the nearest services including:

  • Free-to-use and charging ATMs
  • Bank branches
  • ATMs with deposit capability (allowing small businesses to deposit notes)
  • Post Offices
  • Banking hubs
  • Cash at the Till (Allowing customers to withdraw notes and coins at participating retailers)

Together, these amount to around 50,000 free-to-use locations, and a further 9,000 charging locations to manage cash.

The tool also provides additional information for consumers including accessibility or availability of £5 notes.

LINK data shows that over 93% of the UK population live within 1 mile of the nearest free access to cash point.

Nick Quin, Head of Financial Inclusion, LINK, said: “We know more people are choosing to pay for things using contactless cards or their phones, but millions still rely on access to cash. It’s why our Cash Locator tool is critical when you’re looking for cash on the go.

“It’s important to remember that while the face of the high street is changing, there are still many different ways of withdrawing money. Our job is to protect access to cash for many years to come.”
